Greetings from Dean and Anna -
Now that Anna has retired, we will be RVing part-time and using this vehicle to report where we have been and, more importantly, where we are going. We would love to hear from you and would welcome your comments and suggestions (like places we should be sure to see). If you have time to meet up with us somewhere, we'd like to know that as well; we want to keep up with friends and family all over the Northern Hemisphere (we aren't thinking any broader at this point).
Our base will be Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri. After all, when you are in Missouri, you are half-way home from almost anywhere! When we land at our base, we welcome you to stop by and visit with us here as well. Spring and Fall is beautiful here; Summer is a bit hectic and Winter is unbearable. Therefore, we will typically winter with the snowbirds in Texas which is closer to much of our family.
This weekend, we will put together a tentative plan for the winter months and distribute to you all. If at any time, you want to be removed from this blog, please let us know and we will be glad to edit our list. Meanwhile, welcome to what a friend has termed the "3rd Age" (thanks JP!). We hope you enjoy this adventure almost as much as we are!

Needles Highway
This highway is very scenic and narrow and winding - so that a motorhome can't make it through, as some of the openings are less than 10 feet high. The rock formations in granite are breathtaking!

We couldn't stay in Waterton Lakes for more than a day, so we stayed at Great Canadian Barn Dance which was loads of fun!

My reward for going on the Alaska trip was dinner at the famous Chateau at the Fairmont in Lake Louise. The food was a wonderful as the view!

Meet our Tracks Family
These are the folks we have spent the last 40 days with. We said good bye on Tuesday night. 18 of the 19 rigs completed the trip; the last was our Wagonmaster who was the tailgunner. Bob and Diane will hopefully join some of us on our return trip!

On the next to the last night, we went to Hyder, Alaska to watch for bears in this area and I thought this was a great shot. The water is so cold, coming from the glaciers and the air was warm (50 + degrees) and this was the effect.

The Trans Alaska Pipeline System is 800 miles long; 420 miles of which is elevated to avoid the unstable permafrost.

Well, I just addressed your Christmas card to your MO address, so you'll get it sometime in April, perhaps. Meanwhile, safe travels and Merry Christmas to all of you down there in the warm South. We have our tree up, a bit o'snow on the ground, and Graeme and I are planning to ski Wednesday. Ciao!
